Vanguard Login: Access Your ETFs, Mutual Funds & Business Retirement Plan Account
Vanguard is widely regarded as one of the top investment companies in the world managing over 5.3 trillion USD in assets. The company has its headquarters in Valley Forge, Pennsylvania and was founded in 1975 by John Bogle. Vanguard offers a variety of products to its customers ranging from Vanguard mutual funds to CDs & bonds. Other products include:

The Vanguard Group offers a variety of trading options and accounts for its customers to choose from. They include the IRAs: Roth & traditional, Individual & joint accounts, 529 college savings plans, Annuities, SEPs, i401(k)s & SIMPLEs, and Vanguard 403(b) Services, etc.
As a rule of thumb, many people have had difficulty in accessing their Vanguard account in the past due to the complexity of the Vanguard website. Luckily for you, there is no special login portal for each account type. For instance, Let’s say I opened a personal investment account or an IRAs account, I can access my account from the general account login area. Before I show the Vanguard account login process, I’ll like to enlighten those that are yet to open an account with Vanguard the different account types there is.
How To Create a Vanguard Account
It is very easy to open an account with Vanguard. Vanguard offers different account types — Retirement, General Investing, For a minor, and For businesses. Choose the one that best suits your personality under these options. Under the retirement account plan, we have the Traditional IRA, Roth IRA, Rollover IRA, and Variable Annuity account types to choose from. If you’re a business owner, you might wanna go for the i401(k), SEP-IRA, or SIMPLE IRA plan. For youngsters, the 529 accounts or Custodian (UGMA/UTMA) account types would be just fine. While for investors, the Individual account, Joint account or Trust account plans are just what you need.
Since you’ve decided on which account type to open, the next step is to move forward. In general, you need to have the below information before you can open an account with Vanguard:
- Social security number
- Account number
- Routing number for your checking account
- Employer’s information (If applicable)
Once you’re all set and ready, visit www.vanguard.com to get started. Next, locate and click on the “Open account” button at the top-right corner of the page to proceed. On the next page, you’ll be shown a variety of accounts to choose from. Now click on the “Open a new account” button to proceed to the next step. Check the option that applies to you then tap on the “Continue” button to proceed. Next steps involve answering the prompt instructions, setting up a Username and password, and verifying your information. Once that is done, submit your request.
Vanguard Login to Your Account Guide
Vanguard has provided a general “Log in” portal for all account types. As a user, you’ll need to have your Username and Password handy before you can access your account. Simply follow the below guide to access your vanguard account:
- Visit the Vanguard login page for US investors to get started.
- Next, navigate to the left corner of the page, then enter your Username and Password in their respective fields.
- Finally, click on the “Log on” button to access your account.
You can access your vanguard 401k account, personal investing account, business accounts using the method I just described above.
NB: This logon guide described above is for employee alone. If you’re the employer, you’re required to log in via a different address before you can access your account.

How To Recover Your Vanguard Account Login Details
It is a common occurrence to misplace or forget your login information. Because of this, Vanguard has provided a means to retrieve your login credentials should you ever forget them.
- To recover your Vanguard sign in information, go to the vanguard com login page, to begin with.
- Next, click on the “Need logon help” link under the Account “log on section” to continue.
- On the next page, enter your First & last name, DOB, Last four digits of your SSN, registered email, and Zip code in the fields provided.
- Finally, click on the “Continue” button when you’re done filling the form. Follow the prompts instructions on the next page to retrieve your account login details.
