Now diving back to today’s topic; Wells Fargo card activation. There are three ways you can activate your Wells Fargo card and they include:
- Wells Fargo Mobile App
The commonest and simplest means of activating your Wells Fargo card is by calling the toll-free number on the sticker that came with your card. I bet you didn’t know the use of the strange toll-free number that came with your number before now 😏. Generally, all credit card issuers usually put the activation number inside the envelope your card came with. All you have to do is to call that number and provide your personal information as prompted. This is to allow Wells Fargo to verify your identity and confirm that you’re the one making the request.
Below is the information you’ll need to have before you can activate your card:
- Your card’s 16-digit number
- Expiry date
- CVV code
- SSN or TIN (to verify your identity)
PS: The methods that I’m gonna be discussing below apply to both your Wells Fargo credit & debit cards.
How to Activate Your Wells Fargo Card Over the Telephone
Call 1-877-294-6933 to activate both your Wells Fargo debit or credit cards over the telephone. Like I mentioned earlier, you’ll be required to confirm that you’re the one requesting to activate your card by providing your social security number, account number, card number, and expiry date.

I don’t normally recommend this method because it is stressful. You’ll need to visit the customer service section of any Wells Fargo branch and request that they activate your card. Your card will be activated as soon as the customer service representative verifies your identity.
