GreenSkyOnline: GreenSky credit Requirements, Application, Login Guide
GreenSky is a fin-tech company based in Atlanta, Georgia which specializes in delivering loan-related technology to banks and merchants in order to ease the loan application process. GreenSkyOnline focuses on delivering loans in the area of home improvement, solar, healthcare, and other purposes. The company claims to have lent out over $5 billion to 2.2 million people nationwide from 2012 to 2016.
Greensky does not fund loans through its own capital. Instead, it uses banks as its major money source when offering loans to consumers. Most times, these loans are offered through home improvement contractors, retail outlets and merchants who have registered with GreenSky.
Below is a complete about GreenSkyOnline, how they operate, and how customers feel about their services.
GreenSky Credit Reviews: The Good, Bad, and Ugly
Normally, you’ll need somewhere in the range of 650+ credit score to be approved of a GreenSky credit. This seems like a good deal, but the amount of negative complaints I’ve seen against them is overwhelming. Hence, I decided to dig deeper into their operation activity to know why they have so much these bad reviews against them.
First and foremost, from my observations, I don’t think GreenSky is playing it fair on their own end. Most of the negative complaints against them have been on unfair business practices from contractors using their platform to administer home financing options. Also, some customers have reported billing issues, and some have stressed more on their rather confusing deferred interests promotion bait.

Here is what others are saying about them:
I had a company do work on my home who use GreenSky. Due to unethical business practices of the original company, I believe the loan fell through and they had to give the money back to GreenSky. GreenSky came up out of nowhere with some unexplainable amount. I believe they are trying to intimidate me into paying finance charges on a non existant loan. I told them I want something in writing and was told ” we dont do that” I also asked if the original company had to give back all the money and was told “we can’t tell you that”ncnc648 from www.energysage.com
Others have expressed their feelings on how greensky affected their credit rating:
I ordered Anderson Windows they use this company green sky. no one tells you that when you do this the same as cash amount goes as a loan from the bank they choose and do not tell you about ahead of time. It crashed my credit from mid 700 to mid 600s. it also appears as if you are not making payments on your credit. Then when i saw this i quickly cancelled the windows. They said they can cancel the windows at Anderson but they cannot cancel the Green sky Credit loan on the bank. I could not reach green sky they would not help me played games. They dont want you to cancel. I was not told it would show as unpaid loan for the six months. wow never ever use this company. It stayed on credit really long and even the bank they used it at would not cancel it. Anderson would not cancel greensky. ALFUL waste of my time. and hurt credit.abrufiange from www.energysage.com
While GreenSky claims that the number of good reviews they have is way more than the bad ones. These bad reviews are still worth mentioning seeing the overwhelming correlation between them. Aside from the bad reviews, greensky seems to be a good loan option if you’re willing to abide by the following rules:
- Never pay your loan balance after the no-interest promotion period. This is because greensky offers deferred-interest loans, meaning that interests are not first applied to the loan for a certain period (promotion period), given that you pay your loan balance within this period. So you might wanna take advantage of this offer if you’re sure you’d be able to pay your balance within the stipulated time to avoid interests. Unless be ready to incur high-interest costs which has accumulated as a result of long period.
- Be ready to receive a negative impact on your credit score once you apply for a greensky credit. This is because greensky always do a hard credit inquiry on loan applicants to ascertain if they’ll be able to pay back or not. This action will definitely have a negative impact on your credit score (I guess you know how these things work, right?😒). So think twice before you apply for a loan through them.
Once you have the full conviction within yourself that you’re good to go. You might wanna know about some benefits attached to applying for a GreenSky credit below:
First, GreenSky credit is granted always almost immediately, because most of their loans are always being requested at point of sale (i.e. from home improvement contractors, etc). Also, you can get up to $60,000 in credit! Isn’t that awesome?
Secondly, GreenSky has been praised over the years for its increasing low credit rates. Their Apr ranges from 4.99% to 23.99%, and their deferred interests period could be as high as 24 months. Furthermore, they also have reduced rate loans ranging from 0% to 26.99%.
For their repayment plan, the deferred interests’ promo takes place during the promotional period plus an additional 7 years. While for the reduced-rate loans, the repayment period ranges from 5 to 12 years.
If you seem OK with this and you wish to go on with your loan application. You might wanna check the greensky credit requirements to know if you qualify in the first place.
